After the initial sketches, I started to try and nail down exactly how I planned to draw Gojira. I wanted there to be a consistent look to him, and so I tried develop a “model sheet” of sorts, especially when it came to his head. I felt if I had a definite approach to building it, then not only could I draw it from almost any angle, I would also maintain consistency; something I’ve struggled with in the past.
