I really enjoyed the design of the antagonist in “Hare Less Wolf” (1958), and you can see hints of Freleng’s future “Pink Panther” design, which would come less than a decade later. I’m always amazed when any character does a 180 rotation, and here the wolf chases Bugs around a tree while carrying a gun; adding more difficulty. The scene where Wolf reads the instructions for a hand grenade is brilliant, while a lot of dialogue can slow a cartoon down, it was well executed here. In some ways it reminds me a lot of the “Holy Hand Grenade” bit in Monty Python’s The Holy Grail.
