As I mentioned before, I hate rooms that are set up as a box, and it’s especially annoying when it’s a place that you go back to over and over again. Mindbender seems to always be in a lab, so that worst thing you can do is make it a galley kitchen set up. Here I tried to have a space that was almost like a sitcom set up; think of the sets for Odd Couple or Married with Children. There’s an entrance landing, then a “couch” area, then a “kitchen/dining” space. A lot of shows use this, but it spreads things out so there’s some variety in your shots. I expanded the room even more, so the brainwave becomes the couch, and the controls are in a side area.
