This week, Tricky actually uses his powers for good, but I won’t tell you how.
I think my favorite bits to draw in the book are the parents. When you’re a kid, you never think of your parents as people. They’re objects of authority, either telling you what to do, or what not to. I like trying to show them as real people.
The shot was described as the parents staring out the window, unable to go out because of the weather. They’re having the same feeling, so I had them share everything about it; hence mom leaning on the dad. It’s the type of interaction couples often have, even if it’s a small detail. Hopefully it shows they have personalities as well, and they’re not just antagonists to Tricky’s efforts.
