I wanted to show the team/studio a bit more about how I’d like to do Gojira, so I cranked out this drawing. I like the absurd Godzilla stunts, the ones other people laugh at. These movies are supposed to be fun, and the recent ones seem very action oriented, which is fine, but (for me) they fall short in the fun arena. Godzilla seems to work best when being a commentary on humanity as with the original and Shin, or as something akin to a cartoon. Yeah, a train wouldn’t hold together to be used as a bullwhip, but it worked well in Rusty, why not for Gojira?
