I was never a huge fan of Tom & Jerry, as they didn’t show them a lot when I was a kid. They showed the Tex Avery Droopy cartoons even less, and Barney Bear was something I didn’t even know about for years. I’ve really come around on Barney Bear, but I think he (sadly) is a victim of the fact a lot of his cartoons were about the war effort. There are some beautiful poses in those cartoons, and his body shape is a nice shift from the thinner look of Daffy and Bugs.
