Most are familiar with the iconic look of the main players Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, but the one-off cartoons done at Warner Bros. also show off some amazing character design. The Abominable Snowman, Witch Hazel, the Three Bears, and Ralph Phillips from “Boyhood Daze” are fairly well known, but even the squirrel from “Much Ado About Nutting” could have been a reoccurring character (and you could argue he was repurposed as Rikki Tiki Tavi). It’s the one-offs that really catch my eye sometimes, from the “owners” of Michigan J. Frog, to Hanzel and Gretel, or all the various cavemen from the WB short “Wild Wild World” … brilliant.
