Here’s a panel from this week’s Beano! I get to design various gadgets for Rubi, but I try to keep things in check. Basically, I want the objects to feel like they fit within the Beano-verse, but part of that is by keeping them from getting too complicated… visually. To do that, I usually start with the question “What would it have looked like in the original Willy Wonka film?“, and I go from there.
